Karen Hemmesphere
Karen Hemmes, aka DJ Hemmesphere, is an experienced Arizona-based DJ and event host with over 18 years behind the decks. Known for her versatility, musical intuition, and ability to read a crowd, she seamlessly blends genres—from hip-hop and open format to EDM, rock, and pop—to create unforgettable experiences on the dance floor. Since beginning her career in 2008 and expanding into weddings and private events in 2018, Karen has built a reputation for delivering high-energy, professional performances at weddings, corporate events, private parties, and nightlife venues across Arizona and the southwest.
Born in Canada and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Karen developed a love for music early, playing guitar, singing in choirs, and performing throughout her school years. After moving to Arizona in 2006, she began DJing at age 18 in Show Low, quickly becoming the venue’s resident DJ. In 2011 she relocated to Scottsdale to pursue larger opportunities and soon established herself in the Phoenix nightlife scene, performing at bars, clubs, lounges, and major events throughout Phoenix, Tempe, and Scottsdale.
In 2016, she was named one of the Top 10 Female DJs in Arizona. Throughout her career, Hemmesphere has shared stages with internationally recognized artists including Bingo Players, Ciara, Porter Robinson, Zeds Dead, Timmy Trumpet, Will Sparks, and Chuckie, and has performed at events such as Wet Electric and Global Dance, two of Arizona’s premier music festivals.

The process was fun & easy to select a DJ that fit our vibe. We were thrilled to book DJ Hemmesphere! It’s one of the wedding planning aspects we were most excited about. We would play her previous playlists to hype ourselves and our friends up for the big day. She was great to work with as well, providing awesome song choices that felt like us and being flexible when we had a few changes. On our wedding day, she brought the party! She kept the dance floor packed and our guests didn’t want the night to end! We haven’t stopped talking about how great DJ Hemmesphere is!
