1. For your wedding, keep in mind that your guests are going to want to be where the two of you are. If you’re on the dance floor, then your guests will be, too!
2. Don’t put the DJ in an obscure location or corner; the DJ needs to be easily visible and near the dance floor so they can see it to get a feel for the crowd.
3. If there are older guests, try not to sit them at tables that are close to or right in front of the speaker(s).
4. Trying to micromanage your timeline will just give you a headache. We want to plan and prepare ahead of time to make sure we are on the same page, but some things may evolve on your big day. You've hired a great DJ, and we are trained to work on our feet and read situations to adapt. Trust us to make sure your day goes exactly as you both have envisioned.
5. If you have dance floor lighting, keep in mind that darker is better. Use dimmers for chandeliers, cafe lighting, etc.
6. If you have a bar or photo booth at the event, please put it in the main room where the DJ is. You want to keep people near the dance floor at all times and somewhere the guests will more easily utilize them!
7. When picking your songs for your event, take into account not only your taste, but the guests’ as well. Your heavy metal gym playlist may not be the right thing to kick off a dance floor, so instead consider starting off with some classics. We’ll have plenty of time to mix in your favorite songs later in the evening so you can sing along well into the night!
8. When picking your music, you don’t have to overdo it. Pick 20 or so songs you like and a few you don’t, and let us fill in from there.
9. We typically recommend that toasts are kept to a maximum of 5 minutes per person and a maximum of 4 people.
10. We also recommend that the first dance is done right after you are introduced, and suggest shortening the length of the songs for your parent dances.
11. If you have to cut corners on your budget, don’t skimp on your DJ lighting—it can make or break your event by creating a dynamic environment to keep guests dancing all night!
Let's get to know each other.
We've worked with them all. And these are the ones who have gone above and beyond for our couples.
